Ada Count Pet of the Week: Ferdinand the Dachshund

July 9, 2013

Ferdinand, 1, is a neutered male, black and brown, standard-sized Dachshund. Ferdinand came to the shelter as a stray and is now looking for a loving home.

He is a comical, charming young dog. He is affectionate and would likely do very well as a family dog with respectful children of all ages. Still basically a puppy, Ferdinand will need a home that will commit to daily exercise and continue to teach him his basic commands. Ferdinand loves playing with other dogs at the shelter. He has a short, eas-maintenance coat, and will need an indoor home where he can live with his family.

Ferdinand can be found in kennel 403 (#20221858) at the Idaho Humane Society at 4775 Dorman St. in Boise. The shelter is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
