Firehouse Subs restaurant in Boise is the first of 12 in region

Firehouse Subs restaurant has opened at 1569 Milwaukee St. in Boise, the first of 12 planned for Southern Idaho.

The restaurant serves sandwiches and more than 120 beverages. The store is decorated with firefighter memorabilia and a custom-painted mural of a firefighter tipping his hat to honor the memorial at Idaho's Fallen Firefighter Memorial Park, according to a press release.

The company plans to open Firehouse Subs restaurants in the Twin Falls and Idaho Falls areas. The Boise restaurant is owned by franchisee Justin May, a former concrete company executive who lives in Star.

The Milwaukee Street store is open 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Firehouse Subs is a franchise company with 637 restaurants in 35 states. It is headquartered in Jacksonville, Fla.
