Former Apple executive to speak at Startup Boise event Tuesday

Rick LeFaivre, former leader of Apple Computer’s Advanced Technology Group, will speak to Treasure Valley entrepreneurs in Boise Tuesday evening.

He will discuss “Success to Failure to Success: Lessons from Apple and the VC (venture capital) World” at Crux Coffee House, 1022 W. Main St.

The free event, presented by StartupBoise.com, starts at 6 p.m. with a Startup Spotlight presentation by NetCamps.com CEO Chris Chattin. LeFaivre’s talk will begin at 6:15 p.m. Music will be performed by local guitar and mandolin duo Limehouse.

LeFaivre, who is currently with OVP Venture Partners and the University of Washington Center for Commercialization, also has served as chief technical officer and senior vice president of research and development at Borland International and held similar positions at Silicon Graphics, Sun Microsystems, and Tektronix.

The event is sponsored by Bank of the Cascades and Arkoosh Law Offices.
