Boise man charged for truck theft

July 2, 2013

— A man arrested Monday night for allegedly stealing a truck had already been told to leave by a neighbor after an attempted bicycle theft, police said.

Robert Craig Templeman, 29, was arrested after several residents of a neighborhood southwest of State Street and Lander Street called police to complain about a suspicious person and to report the attempted bicycle theft.

Another resident of the neighborhood reported a truck stolen.

Police said Templeman first walked onto one property, where the resident said he attempted to steal a bicycle from a bike rack. He left when confronted by the resident, but later returned to the property.

The suspect then went to a neighboring house and stole a Ford pickup out of an open garage, where it had been left unlocked, police said.

A witness saw Templeman driving the truck. He was arrested a short time later and booked into the Ada County Jail.

Templeman was charged with felony grand theft and misdemeanor criminal trespass.
