19-year-old woman charged with burglary after pry bar break-in

July 1, 2013

A Boise woman was arrested Monday morning after police say she attempted to break into a home in a neighborhood near Fairview Avenue and Maple Grove Road.

The victim told officers that Carrey Shae Butler, 19, made several attempts to break in through a rear window and used a pry bar to break a door handle. The victim and Butler do not know each other, police said.

Boise police responding to the scene found Butler behind the home. When an officer shined a light on the suspect and called out “Boise Police,” she fled, police said.

Officers caught the woman, who police described as “very disoriented and wearing very little clothing,” a short time later.

Butler was booked into the Ada County Jail shortly after 3 a.m. Friday. She faces a felony burglary charge.
