19-year-old Oregon driver hospitalized after crash on Boise's Bogus Basin Road

June 30, 2013

A 19-year-old from Prineville, Ore., was taken by air ambulance to a Boise hospital after the vehicle he was driving went off Bogus Basin Road and rolled multiple times down an embankment Saturday.

Idaho State Police say the crash occurred at about 6:24 p.m. near milepost 13 in Boise County. The crash closed the road for about three hours.

Tevin Cooper, who was driving a 1996 Ford Taurus, lost control on a curve, police say. The vehicle went off the road, and Cooper over-corrected. The vehicle went about 90 feet down an embankment, rolling multiple times before coming to rest against a tree.

Both Cooper and a 20-year-old passenger, Katelyn Patton of Boise, were wearing seat belts. Patton was treated at the scene and released.
