June 26, 2013

A 31-year-old Boise man is accused of holding a woman against her will and raping her, police say.

Jason L. Burniston has been booked into the Ada County Jail on felony kidnapping and rape charges.

Burniston was taken into custody after police investigated a report of a rape at a residence at 4 a.m. A third party reported the incident, said police spokeswoman Lynn Hightower

Officers found evidence that he had sexual contact with the woman and would not let her go, police say. The suspect and alleged victim are acquainted. Officers were able to quickly locate the suspect, who was not at the alleged crime. He was taken into custody without incident.

The victim is receiving support assistance through the Boise Police Department Victim Services Unit.
