Free lift rides for Brundage summer opener

Bring food to donate to local charity.

Brundage Mountain Resort is offering free chairlift rides from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, June 28 to kick off the summer chairlift season. Brundage officials are asking visitors to donate one can of food or $1 per ride to benefit the Heartland Hunger Resource Center. Brundage and Giant Mountain Bikes have also teamed up to raise money for the hungry with a giant revolving raffle featuring everything from bike jerseys to locks, gloves and saddles. Each person who donates a can of food or $1 will receive a raffle ticket. Additional tickets may be purchased for $1 each. Multiple items will be raffled at noon, 1 pm, 2 pm and 3 pm, with a grand prize drawing at 4 pm for a giant swag bag which will include a 2013 summer season pass. Participants must be present to win. Bike rentals will be available for purchase on-site on a first-come first-served basis. The Brundage Bike shop will also provide free bike safety checks from 9 am – 11 am. The Grand Opening Celebration includes an outdoor barbecue starting at noon. Food and beverages will be available for purchase in the base area. The celebration also features demos from local partners like Hometown Sports, Gravity Sports, Reed Cycle, Ridgeline Sports, Centrail Idaho Mountain Bike Association, H20 Idaho and the Idaho Down Music Festival. Regular summer lift hours are Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10 am - 5 p.m. with bonus days on Thursday, July 4 and Monday, September 2.
