Fertilizer plant to open in Greenleaf

Boise - The Idaho StatesmanJune 25, 2013

Valley Agronomics will open a new fertilizer plant in Greenleaf east of Nampa.

The plant will store and distribute seeds and pre-made fertilizers from a 20,000 square-foot seed and chemical warehouse.

Valley Agronomics and its parent company, Valley Wide Cooperative, operate throughout Idaho except for the panhandle, as well as eastern Oregon. The Greenleaf facility is a consolidation of operations in Nyssa, Ore., and Nampa,  Marketing Manager Eric Holbrook said. The plant will have 37 employees but could expand.

Valley Wide Cooperative has 367 employees.

The plant will have the capacity to store more than 17,000 of dry fertilizer and 1.2 million gallons of liquid fertilizer.

The company will hold a public ribbon cutting at the plant at 20870 Van Slyke Road at 9 a.m. Friday, June 28. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
