The Idaho Transportation Department will postpone construction work that could delay travel for the Fourth of July holiday.
The statewide suspension of roadwork will be in effect July 3-5.
The halting of construction projects will allow those traveling for the holiday to reach their destinations without delays, according to the ITD.
Crews may still do work in emergency repair situations or in areas where roads are closed or have very few drivers.
Construction will also be allowed on the shoulder or anywhere where it does not impact traffic.
The ITD urged holiday travelers not to drink and drive and to follow the rules of road safety.
