Pet of the week

June 25, 2013

Daytona, 2, is a spayed female, black, Labrador retriever and English pointer mix. Daytona lost her home due to a foreclosure. Don't overlook Daytona due to her less flashy, black coat; she is an absolute gem of a dog.

Daytona is house-trained, crate-trained and used to living indoors with her family. She will require a 6-foot fence, because she can hop over a shorter one. She has lived happily around children of all ages, cats and other dogs.

At the shelter, Daytona loves to join the other shelter dogs for playtime. She will sit on command and her attentive, eager-to-please personality suggests that she is capable of learning much more.

If you're looking for a beautiful, ready-made companion dog, Daytona might be just the right gal for you!

Daytona can be found in kennel 421 (#20133435) at the Idaho Humane Society at 4775 Dorman St. in Boise. The shelter is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
