GARDEN CITY — A California man who had $20 in his pocket and more than $2,000 in his car was arrested Thursday evening after being accused of stealing cookies and soda pop worth less than $5 from Wal-Mart.

Stephen Anthony Jacalone, 34, of Crescent City was apprehended at the store in the 7300 block of West State Street and lodged at the Ada County Jail in Boise. Police officers also learned Jackalone had a warrant out of Medford, Ore., for a felony drug crime.

The jail's website said he signed a waiver to allow his extradition to Oregon. On Saturday evening, he was still at the Ada County Jail.
