Hawks win first game of series in Spokane


Boise defeated the Indians 4-1 in the teams' first meeting of the season. Paul Blackburn kept his ERA at 0.00 after pitching five innings in his second start of the season for Boise.

Blackburn struck out four and allowed three hits to set the tone for the Hawks (4-3). Yasiel Balaguert hit a three-run homer in the eighth inning to break open a 1-1 game, and Kevin Encarnacion went 2-for-4 and scored two runs.
