CALDWELL — A Caldwell man who allegedly fired a gun and fought with police in front of a home was arrested early Thursday morning, according to the Caldwell Police Department.
Officers responded to a Sage Drive home after receiving a number of reports of gunshots in the area shortly after midnight.
Police found Ruben Fabian Hall, 32, fighting with another man and a woman in front of the house. The woman gave officers a handgun that had been taken away from Hall, police said.
CPD Patrol Lieutenant Devin Riley said Hall had been trying to shoot at the victims, but had loaded the wrong caliber bullets into the gun.
Although he allegedly attempted to fire several times, the gun only went off a few times, Riley said. All of those shots missed their mark.
When the officers approached Hall, he became aggressive and attacked them, police said.
Police were able to subdue him, and took him to a local hospital, where he was treated for scrapes and bruises he received fighting with the officers, before being booked into the Canyon County Jail.
Hall faces one felony count of battery on a law enforcement officer, and two felony counts of aggravated assault stemming from the attempted shootings. He is also charged with misdemeanors for battery and resisting arrest.
Additional charges may be added, police said.
