June 18, 2013

A fire along the Greenbelt that was reported just after noon may have been human-caused, according to dispatchers.

The fire, near Veterans Memorial Parkway in Boise, burned underbrush along the river and several trees before firefighters were eventually able to extinguish it.

A grass fire in Garden City on the south side of the river near 46th Street is also out, dispatchers said.

The Garden City fire was described as "small and smoldering" by dispatchers, and did not do any major damage.
