THE RECORD EXCHANGE
1105 W. Idaho St., Boise, 344-8010
Don't go to The Record Exchange if you have to be someplace soon.
The longstanding store has a way of snaring customers intending only to browse for 10 minutes. You can be on your way out the door minding your own business, when: "What's this? Octopus print socks? I'd better check this out."
The Record Exchange has lots of stuff you've always wanted and stuff you never knew existed. Like a crazy cat lady figurine ($10.99, includes eight cats). Or a mustache grooming kit ($4.99, in a mustache pouch, of course). Or salad spoons made of drum sticks ($9.99).
There are tons of CDs, naturally, but also racks and racks of vinyl. Check out the Rob Zombie album released for Record Store Day in April, "Dead City Radio" ($15.99) - it's cut in reverse-groove vinyl!
A true Boise smorgasbord, the store offers a "The North End" T-shirt printed in the style of The North Face logo ($23.99), Flying M Coffeehouse brew ($1.70 for a large), a My Little Pony reusable grocery bag ($5.99) and plenty of other essentials.
