It should come as no surprise to devoted Best of Treasure Valley readers that Metro Express added yet another title. Since opening in 2004, it has wiped out its competition in this category.

Metro Express' original car wash, on the corner of 13th and Front streets in Downtown Boise, is extremely difficult to miss for anyone driving on the Connector, especially at night. Its glowing, cool-blue neon sign is easy to see, lighting up the building beneath and pleasantly drawing glances from the road. Even owners of spotless cars - those without even a neutrino of dirt on them - start thinking it may be time to choose between the Downtown wash ($7), Uptown ($10) or Uptown with tire gloss ($12). Free vacuums come with each wash.

Metro Express now has two other locations - one in Nampa and one on the corner of Pine Avenue and Eagle Road in Meridian. So if you're backed up on Eagle Road, instead of muttering obscenities at other drivers, swing in and get a quick 5-minute car wash. As a bonus, there's a great chance your same spot in traffic will be waiting for you when you get out.

In May, Mister Car Wash acquired all three Metro Express locations. The name of the car washes will eventually change to Mister, but the facilities should remain mostly the same.
