In this on-demand, download-everything-to-your-tablet, Internet world, it's nice to know there is still a place where a book lover can walk up and down aisles of real books.

Situated near Boise Towne Square, Barnes & Noble offers thousands of titles; you can find current fiction and nonfiction best-sellers, classics of literature, reference books and more. There are "bargain" tables with deals on older books, along with gifts, games, greeting cards and an impressive newsstand. Kids will find the newest books to delight them along with classic books their parents loved when they were young. There is a music and video section. The store has free Wi-Fi and comfortable seating for reading while you sip your favorite drink from the Starbucks located inside.

There are book clubs, discussions with authors, a story time for kids and seasonal activities.

And while you're strolling, if a tablet is what you fancy, check out the Nook - Barnes & Noble's own handheld device.
