The campgrounds at Redfish Lake, which is located at the base of the 10,000-foot Sawtooth Range near Stanley, are some of the most popular destinations in Idaho. In fact, it's best to have reservations during the height of the summer season.

The campgrounds are popular because they are right smack in the middle of one of the most scenic areas of the state - the Sawtooth National Recreation Area.

Redfish Lake is known for its sightseeing, hiking, backpacking, motorboating, sailing and paddling. The campgrounds are near trailheads going to beautiful alpine lakes in the 217,088-acre Sawtooth Wilderness.

Nearby is historic Redfish Lake Lodge and a visitor center with all the information you'll need to enjoy the area. The lodge operates a general store in case you forget anything for your camping trip or want souvenirs.

Camping prices start at around $16 a night, and campsites cater to both tent and RV campers. The season usually runs from the end of May into September.
