Receiving this award in a state renowned for its potatoes is quite the honor, and Boise Fry Co. has built itself one heck of a reputation.

Fries normally don't require much thought - you're basically deciding on what size to order at most restaurants. That's only the tip of the iceberg at Boise Fry Co.

First, pick from among six potatoes: Russet, gold, Laura, yam, sweet and purple. Next, choose your cut from shoestring, regular, homestyle, curly or po' balls. There's also the bourgeois, their finest-cut fried in duck fat with truffle salt. Once you've made those decisions, it's time to decide what you'll be dipping them in. The head-spinning array includes options such as blueberry ketchup, malt vinegar, sea salt and chipotle aioli.

Beef, vegan and buffalo burgers also are available here, but don't dare think about ordering the burger first. The burger comes with the fries at Boise Fry Co.

Boise Fry Co. serves soda, wine and beer and offers a buy one, get one free with draft beer and small fries from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
