Entries for the 2013 Idaho Outdoors/Idaho Camera Photo Contest are now being accepted.
The contest is open to all amateur photographers, which is anyone who does not derive their main source of income from selling their photography.
Deadline: All entries must be received by Idaho Camera by the end of the day on July 19. The contest is open only to printed photos. Digital photos can not be entered.
The theme of the photo contest is Idaho Outdoors and all entries must be taken in Idaho. They can include scenic, action or wildlife photographs.
Limits: Entries may be either color or black and white. Photos should be an accurate representation of the "natural" scene or subject being photographed. Photographs manipulated to change, remove or add content to the image will be subject to disqualification. Panoramic photos combined together with two or more frames will be considered if the digital stitching does not change, remove or add content to the image.
Image toning to correct color and contrast is acceptable. Oversaturated color or other dramatic toning techniques will be considered for artistic interpretation, but may be deemed in conflict with the natural theme intended for the Idaho Outdoors photo contest.
Size and number: Participants may enter as many as five photographs. Entries smaller than 5X7 or bigger than 16X20 and those not on photo-quality paper will be disqualified. Framed photographs will not be accepted. Digital photographs will not be accepted.
Identify it: On the back of each photo or attached to it on a separate piece of paper, include the name of the photographer, a daytime telephone number, where the photo was taken and a short write-up about what the photo is about, why the photographer took it and how he or she took it. Entries without this information will be disqualified.
What you might win: The winning photographs and honorable mentions will be published in the Aug. 1 issue of Idaho Outdoors. The top four photos in the adult category and best photo in the youth category will be awarded prizes, which will be announced later.
Entries can be dropped off or mailed to any of the Idaho Camera locations: 1310 N. Orchard, 1036 Vista or 350 N. Milwaukee in Boise.
Entries will be available to be picked up at the Idaho Camera on Orchard after publication on Aug. 7 until Jan. 1, 2014.
