Third alleged member of theft ring arrested

June 13, 2013

— A Boise man arrested Wednesday evening may be connected to a theft ring that has stolen merchandise from over a dozen stores in the Treasure Valley, police said.

Police said they had evidence that tied James Steven Montoya, 22, to the crimes. He was arrested on a warrant and charged with felony burglary.

Two other alleged members of the theft ring, Peggy Sue Williams, 47, and Lex Greer Lowman, 49, were arrested Monday.

The pair were arrested on suspicion of stealing a stereo in March. During the investigation, police found evidence that they had been involved in a string of retail thefts.

Additional charges may be pending against the three alleged members, according to the Boise Police Department. Police also would not rule out the possibility of more arrests connected to the theft ring.

Montoya was booked into the Ada County Jail Wednesday night at 10:43 p.m.
