Crash in Caldwell injures Nampa man

A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Happy Day Lane and Timbre Drive near the DMV in Caldwell injured a Nampa man Tuesday afternoon, Idaho State Police reported.

According to ISP, John Nickey, 74, was northbound on Happy Day Lane in a 1993 Mitsubishi Eclipse when he ran into the back of a a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup driven by Cameron Redifer. Police said Redifer slowed for traffic just ahead of Nickey, and Nickey failed to stop.

Nickey was transported by ground ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Boise. Police said it was unknown if Nickey's injuries occurred before or after the collision, which caused minor damage to the pickup.

This crash is still under investigation.
