Caldwell construction to constrict traffic starting Monday

June 10, 2013

— Construction on the I-84 Business Loop in Caldwell will limit traffic next week, according to the Idaho Transportation Department.

Crews will be working to resurface the roads in a “mill and inlay” process to remove the top three inches of the roadway before pouring new asphalt.

Sections of Cleveland Boulevard, Centennial Way and Blaine Street will be affected by the construction. Traffic will be reduced to one lane as the crews work.

ITD will also lower some curbs to reduce door strikes and rework ramps to comply with Americans with Disabilities Act standards.

The crews will work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, starting June 17. Weekend construction is not planned, but may take place if needed.

The westbound off ramp on Centennial Way will be closed the entire week, according to ITD, and flaggers will be used to direct cars on affected cross streets.

A detour will be set up to circumvent the affected area.
