BSU sprinter receives All-America honors

EUGENE - Boise State junior sprinter Daveon Collins earned second-team All-America honors Thursday, finishing 11th in the men's 200 meters at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field. Collins finished his semifinal in 20.42 seconds, .09 behind No. 8 finals qualifier Justin Austin of Iowa. Matt Post was 18th in the men's hammer throw (201-1), and Marisa VanderMalle placed 19th in the 3,000 steeplechase (10:26.54) for the Broncos. Emma Bates, who finished third in the 10,000 meters Wednesday, will run the 5,000 on Friday.
