Ada Count Pet of the Week: Rivendell the border collie mix

June 4, 2013

Rivendell, 7, is a spayed female, black and white, border collie mix.

Rivendell is a mature, good-natured girl. Her tail happily wags overtime every time she meets new people. Her previous owner reported that she is good with children, cats and other dogs. We'd recommend older, respectful children due to her calm, sensitive nature.

At the shelter she's enjoyed canine playgroups with small dogs and calmer, large dogs. Rivendell has a luxuriously soft, fluffy coat. It will require some brushing to keep it looking its best. Rivendell bonds quickly to people, is housetrained and has nice, polite manners. She will need a home where she can be indoors with her people most of the time. A home looking for a calm, very devoted companion will hit the jackpot with lovely Rivendell.

Rivendell can be found in kennel 202 (#19875513) at the Idaho Humane Society at 4775 Dorman St. in Boise. The shelter is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
