Mountain View High wins boys lacrosse state title

— Led by five goals from Troy Vance, Mountain View routed Lake City 16-7 on Saturday at Centennial High for the first boys lacrosse state championship in program history.

Vance also had an assist for the Mavericks (19-3), who held the Timberwolves (12-4) to one goal apiece in the first and second quarters to take a five-goal halftime lead. Junior attacker Nich Guzzetti, an All-American candidate, added three goals and two assists, and Kaden Lewis and Brydon Anderson each scored twice. Goaltender Lee Shaw made 13 saves.
