Meridian school unveils murals

It's the last week of school, and Meridian's Pioneer School of the Arts on Wednesday unveiled six murals - one per grade level, connected to the curriculum - to the delight of students who saw them in their entirety for the first time.

"I did this part" was a repeated refrain.

Nearly all of the 700 students participated with artist-in-residence Jennifer Williams.

The third-grade mural had to do with math, science and art.

"Art is what breathes life into ever single subject," said Williams. "It's the universal glue."

Meridian and Boise schools end their year Friday. In Nampa, Thursday is the final day.
