UPDATE: Power back on in Meridian

May 28, 2013

— Electricity has been restored in Meridian as of 1:50 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Idaho Power Twitter account.

More than 2,000 people had been without power, according to Idaho Power spokeswoman Stephanie McCurdy.

The cause of the outage, which affected 2,364 customers, is still unknown.

Drivers were advised via Idaho Power’s Twitter page to treat flashing red traffic signals as a four-way stop.

Those who are still experiencing problems can call Idaho Power at 388-2323 for more information.
