Valley marks Memorial Day with salutes, flyovers

May 28, 2013

— Memorial Day ceremonies Monday at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery and the adjacent Dry Creek Cemetery in northwest Boise featured a flyover by two World War II-era P-51 Mustangs.

The ceremonies and many others Monday honored deceased loved ones and those who served our country.

A gun salute echoed out from Morris Hill Cemetery and over the adjacent dog park midday as the annual Civil War flag-raising ceremony and eulogy took place. And in Meridian, recently deceased Army Spc. Thomas P. Murach was added to the Rock of Honor at Julius M. Kleiner Park.
