Crews quickly extinguish fire in west Nampa

A fire at Wissel Farms near the intersection of Middleton Road and and Lake Lowell Avenue in west Nampa was quickly extinguished on Tuesday, Nampa Deputy Fire Chief Doug Strosnider said.

Strosnider said three engine companies, one truck company, a battalion chief, and help and water from the Upper Deer Flat Fire Department all aided in battling the fire.

Several vehicles were threatened, and one semi was on fire, Strosnider said.

Equipment with an estimated value of several hundred thousand dollars was saved, Strosnider said, because of the quick containment by the number of crews and equipment responding to the fire.

Losses are estimated at $5,000.
