Pet of the week

May 21, 2013

Buddy, 4, is a neutered male chocolate Labrador retriever. He was surrendered to the shelter when his owner was facing a move. Buddy is a personable, lovely dog. He gets along well with children, other dogs and cats. He is house-trained and prefers being around people as a house dog. Buddy's previous owner reports he is sound-sensitive and afraid of gunfire and thunder. Buddy's tail happily wags nonstop and he walks nicely on a leash. He has a medium energy level and prefers his canine companions to have similar levels of energy; he doesn't appreciate the young, wild pups. This dog has the potential to steal your heart and be a great family companion.

Buddy is in kennel 406 (No. 19843107) at the Idaho Humane Society at 4775 Dorman St. in Boise. The shelter is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday and Saturday.
