    11 a.m. to 9 p.m. May 17 and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. May 18, St. Seraphim Russian Orthodox Church, 872 N. 29th St., Boise.

Members of the St. Seraphim Russian Orthodox Church have been working in their kitchens for days in anticipation of the 8th annual Russian Food Festival.

This year's menu features entrees such as beef stroganoff (gluten-free!) and shish kebab, sides ranging from Russian crepes to cabbage rolls, salads such as marinated mushroom or spicy carrot - and tons of desserts, of course. (Wash down that baklava with a little Baltika beer!)

Local iconographer Matthew Garrett will showcase his work and talk about the artistic process.

Interested visitors are welcome to join tours of the church.
