Vehicle hits power pole on Boise Bench

A man driving his truck on Norman Drive in Boise said he started choking while drinking water Wednesday, May 15. He lost control of his pickup truck, which hit a power pole and crashed into the back of a house near the intersection with West Newman Street. Downed power lines caused loss of power in surrounding neighborhoods but nobody was injured in the crash.

A truck struck a power pole on the 6700 block of Newman Street causing a power outage in the Ustick Road and Mountain View Drive area.

The crash occurred just before 5:30 p.m.

No injuries have been reported.

Idaho Power crews are assessing the damage and have not estimated when power will be restored.
