Victim in Friday night shooting is identified, charges filed

— A Boise man has been arrested in connection with Friday night’s shooting, according to the Boise Police Department.

Derick Lee Sedivy, 23, was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter after the victim died of his injuries.

The victim was identified Monday afternoon as Austin Tyler Blankenburg, 20, of Kuna.

He died of a single gunshot wound to the head. Blankenburg and Sedivy were related, police said.

The shooting appeared to be accidental, and alcohol was a factor, police said.

Sedivy will be arraigned Monday afternoon in Ada County 4th District Court.

Involuntary manslaughter carries a sentence of up to 10 years in prison.
