A Nampa teenager was killed Sunday night when she was struck by a train, according to Nampa police.
The 17-year-old, whose name has not been released, was hit just after 8 p.m. near the intersection of E. Railroad Street and E. Amity Avenue.
The trains engineer and conductor said they saw the girl standing next to the tracks as the train approached the Nampa yard, going about 25 miles per hour. The girl stepped out directly in front of the train, they said.
There were no other witnesses, according to police. The girl was killed instantly.
The accident is under investigation, police said.
