Skyview takes down Bishop Kelly for 4A District Three baseball title

Skyview's wild three-run rally in the top of the seventh inning gave the Hawks a 7-6 win over Bishop Kelly and their first 4A District Three title Friday at Mountain Home High.

Tanner Ashworth scored the winning run for the Hawks (16-7) following an errant throw to third base attempting to catch him too far off the bag after Daniel Slemmer grounded out to the pitcher.

Skyview tied the game at 6-6 with a safety-squeeze bunt by Ashworth, who safely reached first base.

Bishop Kelly (22-3), which had not lost a 4A SIC game all season, scored four runs in the sixth to open a 6-4 lead.

Pitcher Toby Anderson got the win for Skyview and pitched a scoreless seventh inning.

Both teams qualified for next week's state tournament at Bishop Kelly High.
