Eagle man arrested for breaking into Speedway car

May 10, 2013

An Eagle man was arrested Thursday after Meridian police say he broke into a pace car at the Meridian Speedway.

Officers responded after Speedway employees found Stetson Pace, 21, inside the car. Employees believe that Pace entered the locked vehicle through the trunk, police said.

Pace refused to get out of the car when Meridian police officers arrived. When the officers unlocked the vehicle with a key fob provided by Speedway employees, Pace locked it manually by pushing the inside lock down, police said.

When Pace refused to leave the car, the responding officers broke the window and pulled him out of the vehicle. He was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail.

Pace faces charges of felony burglary and felony malicious injury to property. He did extensive damage to the inside of the vehicle, police said.

Pace is also being charged with a misdemeanor for resisting and obstructing officers.
