Oregon man faces charges in rape of Kuna teen

May 9, 2013

An Oregon man has been extradited to Idaho to answer charges that he raped a 16-year-old Kuna girl in March.

Nicolas Joseph Longo, 20, faces a charge of felony rape. Investigators say that he met the girl online before he visited her at a Kuna residence March 23.

The girl told a Canyon County sheriff's deputy the next day that Longo had raped her.

Longo has told investigators that he did not use force and the sex was consensual, according to Ada County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Andrea Dearden.

No one under the age of 18 can consent to sex, according to Idaho law.

Longo was arrested in Brookings, Ore. in late April. He was extradited to Idaho and booked into the Ada County Jail Wednesday night.

If convicted of rape, Longo faces up to life in prison.
