MAY 10

National Public Gardens Day: 9 a.m. to dusk May 10 at Idaho Botanical Garden, 2355 N. Penitentiary Road, Boise. Garden tours throughout the day, environmental educational partners on site, food trucks and Indian Creek Winery. Free admission. 343-8649, idahobotanicalgarden.org.

MAY 10-11

Spring plant sale: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 10-11 at 1211 S. Owyhee St., Boise. Annuals, perennials, herbs and veggies grown by garden club members and CWI Horticulture students. Proceeds benefit community service projects and scholarships. idhort.com.

MAY 11

Garden Pleasures and Home Treasures: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 11, Village Green at Hidden Springs, across from the Dry Creek Mercantile. Garden plant sale, artisan birdhouses, handmade benches. Children can decorate pots and plant a flower for Mother's Day present ($1/pot). Proceeds go to the Dry Creek Historical Society, which manages the Schick-Ostolasa farmstead.

Community Garden Kick-off Party: 1 to 2 p.m. May 11, Ada Community Library, 10664 W. Victory Road, Boise. Introduces the community to the library's new patio garden, provides opportunities for people to get involved in future gardening programs at the library, provides a seed and cuttings swap, and features a make-your-own bird feeder project for kids. MAY 18

Wacky Weeders Garden Club plant sale: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 18 at 624 Los Luceros Circle, Eagle. 890-2695.

JUNE 22-23

Garden Tour: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 23. Features six Boise homes in addition to the BLM Fire Wise Garden neighboring the Idaho Botanical Garden. Fundraiser for the Idaho Botanical Garden. $25 per person, $20 for garden members. 343-8649, idahobotanicalgarden.org. Æ Garden Gala, June 22 at a private garden. Dinner with northwest gardening expert Ciscoe Morris, cocktails, music by Del Parkinson. $100 per person, includes admission to the Garden Tour. 343-8649.

LAST TUESDAY OF THE MONTH

The Garden Table: 5:30 to 8 p.m. June 25, July 30, Aug. 27 and Sept. 24 at Idaho Botanical Garden, 2355 N. Penitentiary Road, Boise. Combining two events (Uncorked and The Garden Plate), the event features wine tasting and cooking demonstrations, focusing on items that can be prepared with food directly from the garden. $5 general, $3 children 5-12, free for ages 4 and younger. 343-8649, idahobotanicalgarden.org.
