May 8, 2013

Boise police gang detectives are looking for two suspects in an aggravated assault that happened March 18.

The assault took place at about 2 a.m. outside of a nightclub on the 10000 block of West Fairview Avenue. According to a press release from police, witnesses said three adult males badly beat another adult male. The Boise Police Gang Unit determined that the assault had gang overtones, the release said.

One suspect has been arrested - Anthony Bernal, who was taken into custody May 1 and charged with felony aggravated assault.

Police say they still don't know the identities of the other two suspects. One man is described as heavy set adult and about 6-foot-1, possibly in his early 20s. At the time of the incident he was wearing a grey shirt, blue pants and a grey hat, the release states.

The second suspect is described as having a slim build, possibly in his early 20s and standing about 5-foot-7. He was wearing a white shirt and "long" shorts with rolled up cuffs.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the Boise Police Department through non-emergency dispatch at 377-6790, or through Crime Stoppers. For the latter, call 343-COPS, visit www.343cops.com or text CRIMES with the subject of Tip236. A caller can remain anonymous; Crime Stoppers offers a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of criminal suspects.
