Report: Former Idaho football coach Akey files lawsuit against school, State Board

Former University of Idaho football coach Robb Akey is suing the school and the State Board of Education for lost compensation, several media outlets reported Tuesday. The Spokesman-Review newspaper in Spokane reported that if Akey had finished the season, he would have received the second of two $105,000 media payments as part of his roughly $375,000 salary, but he was let go with four games left on the schedule.

In October, the Idaho Statesman reported that Akey's contract runs through December 2014, and the school owed him his base salary of $165,796.80.
