Sheriff releases name of woman killed in Canyon County house fire

Lorinda Wallers, 53, of Homedale, was found dead in a home on the 15000 block of Missouri Avenue following a fire May 1.

No official cause of death has been determined yet, according to the Canyon County Sheriff's Office. The investigation is waiting on toxicology reports, a Tuesday press release states.

The Canyon County Fire Investigation Team is still investigating the cause of the fire, the release states.

On May 1, Canyon County dispatchers received a report of a possible structure fire shortly after 12:30 p.m. Speaking on the day of the fire, Canyon County Sheriff's Lt. Donia Ballard said Wallers lived at the home and did not live alone.

The investigation team is comprised of police and fire investigators from agencies in Nampa, Caldwell and Canyon County, Ballard said.
