May 6, 2013

A man was arrested Sunday morning on a string of charges after he allegedly broke into a truck in Boise while driving a stolen vehicle.

Police officers responding to a report of a vehicle burglary found Zachary Nathan Davis, 24, inside a truck that did not belong to him, according to a Boise Police Department press release. Davis had reportedly torn up the seats and ripped plastic trim from inside the truck, damage that totaled more than $1,000, police said.

When approached by officers, he refused to exit the car and appeared to be under the influence of narcotics, police say. The vehicle police believe Davis drove to the scene had been reported stolen out of Garden City.

Davis was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail. He is charged with felony counts of burglary, malicious destruction of property and possession of stolen property. He was also charged with misdemeanor counts of resisting and obstructing, and being under the influence of methamphetamine.
