Ada and Canyon early voting under way for May 21 election

Early and absentee voting is under way in Ada and Canyon counties for the May 21 election.

The Ada ballot includes Greater Boise Auditorium District board and Meridian, Kuna and Melba school board elections.

In Canyon County, voters will be selecting trustees for Caldwell, Kuna, Melba, Meridian, Middleton, Nampa and Notus school districts; commissioners for Canyon, Nampa and Golden Gate highway districts and considering school levies for Homedale, Parma, Vallivue and Wilder districts.

Nampa and Meridian voters will decide whether to increase each city’s respective city council from four members to six.

Eagle voters will decide a $1.2 million bond to purchase Eagle City Hall.

• Early voting

Registered voters may vote in person at their county elections office through May 17.

Ada County early voting takes place 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at 400 N. Benjamin Lane in Boise

Canyon County early voting takes place 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at 1102 E. Chicago St. in Caldwell.

For information on early voting in other counties, contact your county elections office.

• Vote by mail/absentee

Registered voters may request an absentee ballot until 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 15.

Absentee ballot request forms are available at Idaho Votes.

You also may request an absentee ballot in person or in writing from your county clerk's office.

Written requests must list your complete name and address, the address you want it mailed to and must be signed by you.

Ada County Elections Office, 400 W. Benjamin Lane, Boise, 83704. The office is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

Canyon County Elections Office, 1102 E. Chicago, Caldwell, 83605. The office is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

Absentee ballots must be received at the Election's Office by 8 p.m. on Election Day.

Polls are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

If you are not yet registered to vote, you can register on Election Day at your polling place.
