Fire destroys sheds, vehicle and chickens in Kuna Sunday

May 5, 2013

Two sheds and a van were destroyed, and a half dozen chickens were killed in a southwest Kuna Sunday night, said Kuna Fire Captain John Carlton. No humans were injured in the blaze.

The fire was reported just before 7 p.m. in the 5600 block of West Kuna Road. Fanned by southerly winds, the fire spread from one storage shed to another before firefighters could put it out. A van in a covered area next to one of the sheds also burned.

Carlton said one shed was empty, but the other had items that included a sewing machine and related materials. No one was working or playing in the area, and neither of the buildings that burned has power, Carlton said.

Meridian Fire provided mutual aid at the fire.
