Two wildfires burn 60 acres north of Middleton Sunday

May 5, 2013

Fire officials are investigating two fires that burned a combined 60 acres on BLM land about 9 miles north of Middleton Sunday. The fact that there were two fires in the same area was deemed suspicious.

The fires, which almost burned together, were reported just after 2 p.m., according to a BLM fire dispatcher. They were burning north of a canal at the edge of the Foothills.

The fire wasn't in steep terrain, so Middleton firefighters were able to get to it quickly and put it out.
