The Boise State men's team (20-9), which will face Clemson (18-7) in Knoxville, Tenn., earned an automatic berth into the tournament by winning the Mountain West title. The Tigers received an at-large bid. Boise State is making its 16th NCAA appearance and eighth in the past nine years. The Broncos would face the winner between No. 7 Tennessee and South Carolina State if they advance. That match would be played May 11.
IDAHO MEN'S GOLF: The Vandals are six strokes out of second place after the second day of the WAC Championships at Rio Secco Golf Club in Henderson, Nev. Senior Gordon Webb matched his first-round 74 with another 74 for a 4-over 148 and eighth place with 18 holes to play. Aaron Cockerill is another stroke back at 149 after a 78 Tuesday and is tied for ninth. New Mexico leads the tournament with a 584, followed by UT Arlington and San Jose State (601), UT San Antonio and Utah State (604), Denver (606) and the Vandals (607). The tournament concludes Wednesday.
