A Boise man was arrested Sunday for leaving the scene of an accident after a teenage boy was injured by the man's truck.

Edward Pruett, 46, remained in the Ada County Jail early Monday afternoon.

The teenager was riding a bicycle on the sidewalk at an exit from a parking lot when he was struck about 11:30 a.m. Saturday, according to a Boise police news release.

Pruett was attempting leave the parking lot near Cole and Ustick roads when he hit the boy, police said. Witnesses reported that Pruett stopped the truck and got out and yelled at the boy, police said. Returning to the truck, Pruett drove off, though witnesses told him police had been called and urged him to stay.

Relying on information from witnesses, police found Pruett at his home. On Sunday, following what police called "a detailed investigation," Pruett was arrested on a felony charge of leaving the scene of an injury accident.

The boy was taken to a Boise hospital for treatment of what appeared to be minor injuries, police said.
