Crash kills Boise motorcyclist on Idaho 21

April 26, 2013

The Ada County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that killed a 51-year-old Boise man Friday night.

Officials said the wreck happened just before 8:15 p.m. on Idaho 21, about three-quarters of a mile above the dam.

The victim was heading south on a 2010 BMW motorcycle, the sheriff's office said. It appeared as if the man lost control after going off the right shoulder of the highway and hitting a basketball-sized boulder.

The man was not wearing a helmet, officials said, and died instantly after suffering extensive head injuries.

The motorcyclist's name was not released Friday night. That won't happen until the Ada County Coroner's Office notifies the man's family.
